Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Today, I’ll be observing  a moment of silence for those who suffer at the hands of one who should love them (spouse, parent, partner, child).  I urge you to do the same.  Think about how this might impact your own life… Many people may not even be aware that a friend or coworker is a victim of domestic violence.  Along with rape, it is one of the fastest growing and most under-reported crimes in the world.

So, reflect a moment, observe silence, and then get up and out, and DO something about it.  What am I doing?  I’ll tell you.  October is when I traditionally make my largest donations to charities who help those in, or recently escaped from, an abusive situation.  And this year, I’m offering everyone the chance to help.  Visit http://www.esthermitchell.com/ContestsEtc/SpecialDeal.html to see how  you can help.

Get out there and help, and you send a clear message to the perpetrators that society will not stand silently by, any longer.

I have little money to spend so I generally donate my time and my voice. I grew up during my teenage years in the foster care system where I faced a great deal of violence. Now I have children of my own and I work hard to teach them to know they can say no and they we will always defend them.
