Happy New Year!!

Here it is, the New Year.  It arrived a lot quicker than I expected, and last year saw some massive upheavals and changes in my life.  I mourned the loss of dear friends, and celebrated the birth of new family.  I suffered the pain and fear of increased illness, and sighed with relief when good health (or as good as mine ever gets, anyway) returned.  I found missing pieces of myself scattered throughout the year, and dealt with the anger and frustration of a publisher’s bankruptcy and the Bankruptcy Court’s stupidity.  And yet, I still emerged on this side of the New Year relatively unscathed.  And now I feel like shouting from the rooftops: VICTORY!!

I made it through 2007.  Now, as I focus forward on 2008, I hope for better things not just for myself, but for you, dear readers.  No matter whether you had a stellar 2007, or a miserable one, I hope you have a better 2008.  Remember to take time out to laugh, to play, and to explore.  Learn all that you can, in 2008, and still go back for more.  May we all smile at our defeats, and stay humble in our triumphs.  May the blessings of whatever god(s) in which we believe smile down upon us, and we remember every day to love, laugh, and live to our absolute best.

 Have a great New Year!
